Anderson County just made a big move to protect land as new homes are built. These new rules are about smart growth and caring for nature. County Council approved limits on mass grading for new residential projects. This means builders cannot clear cut entire sites anymore. Topsoil in protected areas must be replaced so grass and plants can grow back strong. Developers are also asked to save trees and keep natural buffers that are at least 10 feet wide along property lines. Why does this matter?
